Uncharted 4 Trailer Showcases Drake’s Latest, Last Adventure? Naughty Dog Offers A Tease of Topnotch Graphics At E3 2014!

Sony closes its E3 show yesterday with an Uncharted 4 trailer, and it looks like it's the last installment in a series of intense, engaging adventures.

Yesterday's E3 saw the unveiling of rumored and confirmed titles, and, as expected, each booth had its share of offerings to steal (or at least to preoccupy) those in attendance.

It was Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End which wrapped up Sony's train of teasers, with an official reveal showcasing the game's topnotch specs. This being said in consideration to the variety of other titles previewed over the span of two hours.

The Uncharted 4 trailer was basically just a tease, showing an ultra-high resolution Drake roused from sleep, jumpstarting an adventure into a forest, a desolate, foreboding environment; there's a running conversation with Sully in the background that sets the stage for a final stint. Or so it seemed.

The teaser ran on the PlayStation 4, and it looks like the heads at Naughty Dog are giving the series their best and parting shots. The game's somber mood is understood, given the news that Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann of the acclaimed The Last of Us are helming this "final" Uncharted installment.

Most details of the new Uncharted game are still under wraps, and it seems Naughty Dog intends to keep it that way. Aside from a 2015 release date, the topnotch graphics seen on the Uncharted 4 trailer remains intact in-game, according to developers.

The game will run at 1080p, and at (tentatively) 60fps. Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli confirms the difference from the previous installments: "As you can see, the visual fidelity for our character models will reach new heights."

The game is still in development, but Monacelli asserts that Nathan Drake's character presently has more than twice the number of polygons used on Joel from PS3's The Last of Us (gamespot.com).

The backstory for the Uncharted 4 trailer is as telling as the title's tagline "A Thief's End." "It's [Drake's] greatest adventure yet and will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he's willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves."
