"House of Cards" actor Kevin Spacey denied rumors that he's playing the villain in the next "James Bond" film as he claimed to have received no offers along those lines.

The 54-year-old actor plays Frank Underwood although he showed off his acting chops in the one-man show "Clarence Darrow" in the Old Vic Theatre in London. His performance drew raves not just from critics but also from social media when he called out one audience member whose phone won't stop ringing in the middle of his monologue.

While he was delivering his monologue as the feisty 19th century lawyer pleading his innocence, a cellular phone suddenly rang. The audience member tried to play it cool as everybody was looking in the direction of the ringing.

Still in character, "House of Cards" season 3 cast Kevin Spacey then blurted out: "If you don't answer that, I will." The admonition earned a round of applause.

While "House of Cards" actor Kevin Spacey would be perfect to play as the villain in the Sam Mendes-helmed "James Bond" movie, he told BBC News that he's not in any way connected to the spy thriller.

"I don't know why people keep writing about this, I've been offered no role, I've never read a script," he said.

"No, I'm not doing the next James Bond movie. No," said "House of Cards" actor Kevin Spacey.

According to MailOnline, Kevin Spacey and Sam Mendes worked in the 1999 film "American Beauty," which won for the actor an Oscar. They also collaborated on "Richard III" in 2011 through the Bridge Project.

That's the reason why "House of Cards" actor Kevin Spacey is more than willing to play a part in the new "James Bond" film, starring Daniel Craig.

"Obviously if [Sam] wanted me he would've offered me the role. I don't even know if there is a role frankly," he said.

As to playing Frank Underwood in Netflix's "House of Cards" season 3, Kevin Spacey said that he looks forward to doing the character everytime.

"It seems that audiences are as well, so you know, I see no reason why it can't go on for a while," he added.
