Samsung Galaxy F Galaxy S5 Prime is rumored to be Samsung's latest rival to the iPhone 6, ahead of its release. While the Galaxy S5 is still in the market, Samsung is playing aggressive with the F variant, which is also known as the Galaxy S5 Prime. The Samsung Galaxy F is slated for release in September.
Until recently, the Galaxy F was reported as having a metallic finish. But leaked images confirm that the Galaxy F has a plastic cover that simulates a brushed metal finish.
The F variant, a "premium" Galaxy S5 is touted to sport 5.2-inch Display with 2560×1440 QHD Res., 3GB RAM, a 16MP Rear Camera coupled with a 2MP Front Camera. It runs on a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Quad-Core Processor. It is speculated to operate on Google's Android KitKat 4.4. Despite the excitement behind a new S5 variant, Samsung has yet to confirm details of Samsung's new iPhone 6 killer.
Samsung's marketing strategy has been a threat to the iPhone maker, Apple and the two have been rivals for some time. The Android platform has reeled in new customers for Samsung, since Apple's iOS products are priced higher. Rumors say that if Samsung intends to target the iPhone 6 release, the Galaxy F will unveil in September or October, in tandem with the launch of the iPhone 6 and the iWatch.
Since the Galaxy F is an upgrade of the Galaxy S5, it will carry a higher price tag, say analysts. Since the Galaxy F aka the Galaxy S5 prime will be equipped with improved specs like 1440 x 2560 QHD 5.3-inch display, 16MP rear camera and a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, these enhanced features from the Galaxy S5 will cost more, making the Galaxy F more expensive than the iPhone 6 with a 4.7-inch screen.
