French Model Dies Due To Selfie? Falls From Cliff In Royal National Park

The 23-year-old French model Fabien Ardoin died after taking a selfie as he fell from a cliff at the Royal National Park, New South Wales, Sydney on Sunday.

The Daily Mail report said that the French model was with his girlfriend and several other friends while bushwalking and taking pictures along the National Park, north of the Little Marley Beach, when he suddenly slipped down and lost his grip while hanging on a ledge.

According to authorities, it was initially reported that the student from Wollongong University fell 10 meters. After further investigations, it was confirmed that he fell 40 meters off the cliff at about 10:30 in the morning but his body was retrieved at 6:30 pm as rescuers had a hard time due to heavy winds.

The Sydney Morning Herald also reported that authorities are investigating if the French model was taking selfies before he fell to his death off the cliff.

The bushwalkers have been reported walking in the Coast Track, near Wedding Cake Rock were they rest for a while and take selfies.

"That is one line of inquiry that we are following up," a police spokesman told the Sydney Morning Herald. They have also scrapped the angle of foul play as investigations revealed it was an accidental death.

The police also added that the trails in the park are safe if they stick to the path. He added, "If you come across a cliff of that height of course there will be dangers."

According to the French model's Facebook and Linked In pages, he is a model of Slides Model Agency based in France and had moved to Australia to live with his girlfriend.

From living with his parents in Paris, the French model decided to live across countries starting in China, Canada and Hong Kong up to Australia where also works as an engineer.
