Before "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" fever completely dies down, the talks on the sequel to the film is already on. Just recently, "Divergent" and "The Fault in Our Stars" actress Shailene Woodley revealed her initial reaction when she was removed from the second installment of the Marc Webb's Spidey franchise, and the rumor that she is already the chosen one to portray Mary Jane Watson, the iconic love interest of Peter Parker, in "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" begins to spark too.
However, nothing is final yet.
Andrew Garfield, who will reprise his role as Peter Parker a.k.a. our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man might be joined by Felicity Jones as Felicia Hardy, the assistant of Harry Osborn. Spider-Man comic readers know very well the role of Felicia in the life of Peter Parker, so they fully understand why she was introduced in the second installment. But for those who only rely on the movie will get surprised to learn that she is Black Cat.
Who will forget Aunt May? Of course, the character will be in every Spider-Man sequel but the actress to play the role may change. But this time, it seems Sally Fields is still in.
Everybody left hanging when the second installment of Marc Webb's Spider-Man franchise ended the movie with Spider-Man about to throw a manhole cover to his new rival, Rhino. To not leave everyone frustrated, "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" needs to be made by hook or by crook. The potential of Paul Giamatti playing the role of Rhino is as clear as crystal.
[SPOILER ALERT!] It is more exciting if Spider-Man will be facing more than one rival in one film; so, apart from Rhino, Kraven the Hunter and Gustav Fiers might be present in the next sequel. Although nothing has been announced yet, and perhaps the script is still on progress, the potential actors to play for super villians are Guy Pearce and Michael Massee. Bollywood actor Irfan Khan is also rumored to be part of third installment and will likely one of the Sinister Six. It is not yet clear if Green Goblin will appear in the next sequel, but in case he will, Dane DeHaan may reprise his role as Harry Osborn/Green Goblin.
It is likely that the Sinister Six will be introduced in "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" to prepare the Marvel fans for "Venom" and "The Sinister Six" spinoffs.
