Lionel Messi reassures himself as one of the tournament's best players as he secures Argentina's first win for this World Cup campaign against Bosnia and Herzegovina, June 15, at the Maracana.

Kicking up their debut for this year's World Cup, Sead Kolašinac of Argentina fired up the game with the first goal of the F Group, just three minutes right after the start.

Then, all the game tensed up as Bosnia takes control but still tussles with Argentina's solid rear guard action. When an opening occurred, Zvjezdan Misimovic passed the ball to Miralem Pjanic, which Sergio Romero quickly turned down.

Though still an understatement for his magnificent career that has been at the Barcelona team, Messi still managed help to Kolašinac build up the first, then scored the second goal of the team at minute 65.

The performance wowed the audience of almost 75,000, their voices echoed with an "olé, olé, olé, olé, Messi, Messi" chant throughout the match.

All eyes were on Messi, though his performance at the Maracana was functional rather than outstanding, he still delivered the winning goals.

However, Bosnia and Herzegovina also had their own expectations and spirits for the game. Brazil 2014 is their first time playing as an independent nation for the World Cup.

With Messi keeping the ball on their side, it seemed impossible for the nation to build their own name. Izet Hajrovic's moves always worried Argentina. He kept dribbling the ball against Messi and Di Maria team ups.

But the time has come. Though the Argentinians scored two points almost instantaneously, Bosnia makes their well-deserved goal, Sead Kolašinac managed to score just five minutes before the game ends, a score they waited for 24 years, ever since the 1990 World Cup final.

The performance brought about by Argentina was great, and just enough to keep them from worrying too much about the next games against underdogs in the F group.
