Actor Harrison Ford will reportedly be missing between six to eight weeks of filming for "Star Wars: Episode VII" after reportedly breaking his ankle on the set of the movie.

Ford, who is returning to his role of Han Solo in the upcoming film, was taken to a hospital last week to treat his injury, which was caused by the door of the Millennium Falcon, according to the publication Hero Complex.

"The initial day or two after the accident, it was hard to move things around, but now we have had more time we can juggle things, bring some scenes forward and push others back. There are lots of other actors in the movie, so it is not a disaster. We are still confident the film can stay on schedule," stated a person close to the production, according to the Mirror.

Ford's injury was reportedly serious enough to mobilize an air lift from the set, according to NY Daily News. The 71-year-old actor's son, Ben Ford, told Access Hollywood that his father may need surgery to add a plate and screws to the bone.

The "Star Wars: Episode VII" cast currently includes members from the original cast, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

Newcomers include Lupita Nyong'o, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, John Boyega and Max von Sydow.
