Ariana Grande's hit song "Problem" closed the Much Music Video Awards on Sunday. "Problem," which is the first single off Grande's upcoming sophomore album, made its debut on Billboard 100 at No. 3 earlier this month. Grande, who starred on Broadway in '13', is best known for her starring role as Cat Valentine, in the Nickelodeon hit series Sam & Cat, which premiered in June 2013.

The MMVAs kicked off with Canadian rockers Hedley, who performed their latest single "Crazy For You" off the top of the show and ended with Grande's "Problem" which showed off her serious pipes. Iggy Azalea, who is featured on the single, was not present for the show.

Grande recently spoke with Ryan Seacrest about her hit song "Problem," saying, "I'm so excited about it. I feel like once you get to that point, it's either you break up or you just work it out and you stay for a while."

Grande also talked to Seacrest about working on her second album, including a track with Chris Brown.

"I did a really cool song with Chris Brown called 'Don't Be Gone Too Long,' and that's his single, so technically I'm featured on his, but it became like a duet," Grande said. "We both sing the whole thing together."

Grande also recently spoke with E! News about getting advice from friend Big Sean about making "Problem." The singer said, "He was like, 'You've got a beautiful voice, but this is pop music-you gotta take a risk. You gotta let go and have fun.' So I did." But Grande admits that she didn't think "Problem" was going to be such a hit until she heard the complete song. "It didn't make sense to me as a single until I heard it completely mixed, and then I was like, 'Ohhhhh, s - - -!' "
