Americans beat the Black Stars with an early one-minute mark goal, and a late one just four minutes before the game ends.
The Americans just set the World Cup's fifth earliest and fastest goal in history when Clint Dempsey managed to open the game with a goal just 29 seconds after the bell rang. Spectacularly delivered, too, as Dempsey ran side by side with Jermaine Jones, then slipped past John Boye, then the strike happened with the left foot from afar.
Surprised with the quick attack, the African team of course first panicked to fight back with great rhythm. However, it was only halfway through the game when Ghana player Asamoah Gyan tried to nick a goal but failed miserably as USA's goal keeper Tim Howard blocks the ball with a dive.
On the other hand, the Blue and White team, though already carrying an advance point, still did not get too coy in the game. In fact, centre-forward Jozy Altidore was lost by the team because of an injury.
The Black Stars continue to get into the game, as another injury in the game was brought about by Jordan Ayew in the first half, with the objective to make a goal 16 yards from the net.
There were a lot of chances for Ghana in the second half. Sully Muntari only missed a few inches from the target when he hit the ball from long distance with his traditional left foot.
Though the USA were showing signs of tiredness at this point, they still managed to attack in the 64th minute when Jones challenged Kwarsey from 25 yards. Nevertheless, Ghana still had most possession of the ball.
And with eight minutes before the end of the match, Andre Ayew delivered Ghana's much awaited and much-deserved goal to equal the score.
But the USA team's spirit were on an all-time high, as they desperately needed this win to avenge their World Cup 2010 lost. With this in mind, substitute John Brooks makes the last impression with an 86th minute goal for America.
