We knew the Iran and Nigeria game could be less exciting than the previous games. But this is beyond it.

None of these two teams had won a game in the World Cup for sixteen years since the 1998. With all the hopes put in the game as their careers' saving grace, it all crumbled down to nothing.

It is rather disappointing than amusing that the game had ended into a draw, of course by the fact that no one even scored one point. This leaves the Group F top spot untroubled, just waiting for Argentina.

Coach Carlos Quieroz of Iran was rather pleased of the situation. He said, "I am very happy but it was very difficult, we played against a great team and it was necessary to play a realistic game.

"I think we did well, we fought for every ball and every space, and we played 90 minutes with one thing on our mind - the first opportunity to score.

"It was a game that I need to praise my players, they deserve to be congratulated. We kept the team in the tournament and now we have Argentina. The most important thing is that everything is open for us." That is some Iranian superstition.

Nigeria, on the other hand, just looked like they enjoyed the game rather than feel challenged. Their lack of creativity and skill is a part of the reason why the game was ended so dully.

It just seemed like the two teams are still waiting for their big World Cup break. If they can't manage to at least beat one another for their World Cup campaign, how can they even have a stand against favourites?
