A Resident Evil 2 Remake is in the works! Though it's not an official remake made by Capcom but a fan-made remake by Invader Games but judging by the tech demo and screenshots, fans can expect good things from this remake.

According to the Invader Games' official facebook page, the game is still in Alpha state but things are going smoothly in development and the devs released the system requirements for the game:

- Processor Dual Core 1.2Ghz or higher ( Intel or AMD)

- Ram: 1 Gb

- Video Card: Video card with at least 512 Mb of RAM and DirectX 9.0c support

Recommended Requirements (DX9 Version):

-Ram: 3Gb

-Video Card: Dedicated Videocard With 1Gb of VRAM and DX11 Support (Shader Model 3+)

Invader Games also released a statement that they are trying to push out a playable alpha demo on the PC this April.

The game will feature a fixed camera view similar to the classic "Resident Evil" titles of old but they will also include an over-the-shoulder camera style similar to the new "Resident Evil" titles such as RE4, RE5 and RE6.

According to the tech demo and statements from Invader Games the game will also use the classic RE inventory system and save system, so Ink Ribbons and typewriters will be back along with item boxes and the classic item menu!

Currently, Invader Games are focusing on the Leon scenario but they promised a Claire campaign will follow soon enough.

It should be noted that Capcom is already aware of the remake but they haven't released a "cease and desist" letter to the developers.

"Resident Evil 2" Remake: Reborn HD was made using the Unity3D engine and will feature all the locations in the original Resident Evil 2 game and some new locations introduced in other media.

"Resident Evil 2" Remake: Reborn HD is a PC exclusive game and will be free of charge once it releases on December 2014. A playable demo will be out on April 2014.

The Resident Evil 7 E3 2014 announcement is still being promised (despite E3 2014 being done) and when it arrives it would leave a huge impression on the fans.

Japanese publication Sankei Shinbum has reported that Capcom will unveil Resident Evil 7 for PlayStation 4 at E3 in June.

The report also quashes previous speculation that the next chapter in the multi-million selling survival horror franchise was to be an Xbox One exclusive release.

It should be noted though that the PS4 was the only platform mentioned, but that doesn't rule out an Xbox One release; Japanese media typically only mentions PlayStation platforms when it comes to the mainstream press reports.

When Resident Evil 7 was rumoured a few years back, one of the most popular theories going on at the time was the return of Albert Wesker to face his son, Jake.

This theory was "confirmed" when an alleged employee of Capcom tweeted about Wesker's voice actor going in to the studio to record lines for Wesker and that they are planning to add Alice from the Resident Evil movies to be a playable character in the Resident Evil 7 and that Alice would be voiced by Milla Jovovich herself!

But Cyberland has reported that Capcom has released a statement about Alice not being included in Resident Evil official canon.

Does this mean that Resident Evil 7 is the RE: Retribution sequel game? Cyberland speculated that it could be because Resident Evil 7 would see the return of Wesker but that can't happen as he's been officially confirmed as dead by Capcom but in the Resident Evil movies, Wesker is alive and well. The Wesker voice actor for the games, DC Douglas has denied being contacted by Capcom for Resident Evil 7 but an alleged Capcom employee has confirmed that Wesker's VA has been in the studio for recording which means that the Wesker voice actor for Resident Evil 7 is the Wesker from the movies. The same goes for Milla Jovovich voicing Alice in the game.
