Sherri Shepherd latest news tells of how "The View" host speak up for the first time after filing for divorce from husband Lamar Sally last month. From the growing pains of her second failing marriage, Shepherd, break the silence and talks about moving forward from what she's going through.
"I say you can't beat yourself up," Shepherd told Us Weekly at the Samsung Hope for Children Gala in NYC, on Tuesday, June 10, "when you know you've made the wrong choice in a guy..." She expounded, "You look, you do some introspective work, and you try not to make the same mistake. If you do, get back up, dust your feet off, and start walking and moving forward."
According to Daily News , the talk show host admitted she's experiencing emotional brawls since the split from her estrange husband.
"I know that you cannot grow without pain. Growth is hard and growth is a struggle, and it hurts and you've got to go through that in order to grow or you stay the same," Shepherd told E! News
Reportedly, this is Shepherd's second divorce, as she was formerly wedded to Jeff Tarpley from 2001 to 2010. The two have a 9-year-old son, Jeffrey, who is a special needs child. The ex-couple is currently under a custody battle over their 9-year-old son.
Shepherd's friend Wendy Williams comes to Shepherd's defense and addressed Tarpley's statement regarding neglect because of the host's busy schedule.
"Well, somebody's got to work!" William said.
"She is an amazing mom and spends a lot of time with Jeffrey Jr.," says a one source adding that Shepherd is really "hands on" when it comes to her son.
"He is never left alone with babysitters or nannies for extended periods of time. When she's doing The View, she takes him to school in the morning and when she has to travel for work, he often goes with her." Shepherd's friend added.
Shepherd also asked for full legal and physical custody of her yet-to-be-born baby via surrogate in the recent divorce filing. The baby is due this summer.
