Chuck Liddell denied a feud with Jon Jones that started through the statements he previously made about the current light heavyweight champion.

Chuck Liddell and Jon Jones were involved in a minor verbal war back in April, right before "Bones" faced "The Iceman's" protégé, Glover Teixeira. A former UFC light heavyweight champion and Hall-of-Famer, Chuck Liddell had something to say for the younger Jon Jones.

"I think I would have been a horrible matchup for him," Liddell said in an interview with FOX Sports. "I would have walked through his punches and he wouldn't have caught me with anything."

Taking offense to the aforementioned statements, Jon Jones responded to Chuck Liddell in a more abrasive manner.

"I'm not going to sit here and insult Chuck," Jones said in a separate interview with UFC Tonight. "He's a very, very loved person by the masses, so I'm just going to keep my mouth shut.

"But I mean, it's like, come on, Chuck, just knock it off," he added. "Keep your mouth shut."

Most recently during the EA Sports UFC Times Square takeover in New York, Chuck Liddell took the chance to address the Jon Jones issue.

"Guys get mad at me," Liddell explained. "It's nothing personal. I like you, you're a nice person. It doesn't mean if I say you have a weak punch, I don't like you as a person."

Chuck Liddell also pointed out that what he said about Jon Jones was merely his opinion, which he believes he is fully entitled.

"It's just my opinion," he quipped. "If you don't like it, I don't care. Actually, I've put my time in. I deserve an opinion. I've got the right to my opinion."

While "The Iceman" maintained that he has no real problem with "Bones", he, however believes that his kids have already taken things personally, and could go as far as not playing Jon Jones' character in the new UFC EA Sports video game.

"With me and Jon going back and forth, I don't think they'll play as Jon," Liddell added. "My family, they take it more personal than I do."
