FULL-TIME. Champions Spain are out of the World Cup.

"IT'S ALL OVER! SPAIN ARE THE FIRST TEAM OUT OF THE WORLD CUP. DEFENDING CHAMPIONS SPAIN ARE THE FIRST TEAM OUT OF THE WORLD CUP," 3News reported.

After losing to Spain 2-0 in Group B Fixtures, it looks like Champions Spain is going home. Spain has dominated European football comfortably for the last four years since their win at the South Africa 2010 World Cup.

It appears to be sudden death for Spain who handled the 2010 tournament with relative ease. Spain came up against two sides in group fixtures. However, Spain failed to deliver under pressure. Lacking in attack, lacklustre defending and poor leadership are attributable to Spain's downfall.

Spain was shell-shocked after their first match when they lost to the Netherlands in a whopping 5-1 defeat.Chile was well prepared and not ready to give Spain an 'easy-go' at the trophy they held four years ago.

"We watched the first half (of Spain's game against Holland) before coming to the stadium (to play Australia) and we know they'll come with a lot of anger, because they have to win to avoid being eliminated," Arturo Vidal of Chile told La Tercera newspaper.

"So we hope to be up to the task. They have always been dangerous."

87 Min: "So does this mark the end of Spain's golden generation? They have absolutely dominated world football for the last six years. What a way to go out."- 3News
