LA Lakers news revealed that Julius Randle has worked out for the team's practice facility at El Segundo on Tuesday, as the Kentucky power forward dismissed earlier rumors that he badly needs a foot surgery.

"They wanted to see my versatility, how I shoot the ball," Randle told nba.com. "Put me on different spots on the floor, seeing how my hands are, testing my skills out."

During his year-long stint at the Kentucky Wildcats, Julius Randle averaged 15.0 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. He also set team records for a single-season freshman in rebounds (417), double-doubles (24) and free throws made (204).

Earlier, LA Lakers news reported that the team also invited to a workout other top 10 prospects like University of Arizona's Aaron Gordon and Creighton's Doug McDermott.

Julius Randle also weighed in on playing on the best possible shape he can and the transition from college hoops to the NBA.

"The biggest difference from high school to college was the longevity and duration of the season - the grind of every day. From college to the NBA, it's going to be an even bigger jump. I wanted to make sure my body is in the best possible physical condition and ready for that wear and tear cause I want to have a long career," he said.

What seems to be a troubling LA Lakers news is the report that the 6'9" forward needs surgery on the foot to remove a screw, according to a Yahoo Sports article.

Julius Randle denied the report to L.A. Times, saying: "I met with the best foot doctor in the country, and he said he wouldn't do anything for my foot. There's no scheduled surgery or anything. I feel healthy, athletic. I'm moving great -- no problem recovering. I'm ready to go."

Mark Madsen, the LA Lakers player development coach, said, "He looks 100% healthy to me."

"I don't know how anyone could have concern about the foot. He looked great," theL.A. Times quoted Madsen as saying.
