"The Bourne Legacy" movie release date is set now on July 15, 2016, changing its original date from August 2015, the Empire Online said in a report. Meanwhile, "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" actor Jeremy Renner will still play the lead role as Agent Aaron Cross.
The Universal Studios decided to extend "The Bourne Legacy" movie release date give time more time to finish the script.
Recenlty, the production team called on Andrew Baldwin to write for the script for the next "The Bourne Legacy" movie so "it makes sense that Universal pushed the release," according to a report from Variety.
Also, the production date is yet to be determined.
"Fast & Furious" veteran director Justin Lin will call the shots for the next "The Bourne Legacy" movie while Frank Marshall, Jeffrey Weiner, and Ben Smith of Captive Entertainment will be its producers. Director Justin Lin will also be one of the producers under Perfect Storm Entertainment.
There is still no confirmation if Jeremy Renner will still have its leading lady Rachel Weiss in the next "The Bourne Legacy" film. The movie has grossed more than $275 million worldwide when it was shown in 2012.
The first three "Bourne" movies featured Matt Damon as Jason Bourne but the story diverted to agent Aaron Cross in the latest "The Bourne Legacy" movie.
Meanwhile, The Empire Online also said that among the list of movies to be shown in 2016 are "Star Trek 3," "Transformer 5," "G.I Joe 3," "Paranormal Activity 5" and "Ben Hur."
Another movie to watch out for is the second installment of "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" which will also star Jeremy Renner and brunette actress Gemma Arterton.
