Netherlands won another match against Australia 2 - 1 at Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre Wednesday, putting the Dutch team on top of Group B.

Earlier this week, the Dutch thrashed Spain 5 - 1 which "brought the tournament to life with one of the greatest results in recent World Cup history" as described by CNN.

Arjen Robben brought Netherlands the initial lead during the 20th - minute mark of the match with a left-footed strike from the left, which was assisted by Daley Blind.

Nevertheless, the Australians immediately caught up, with Tim Cahill once again equalizing the game for the Socceroos as he buried a left-footed shot with the help of Ryan McGowan barely one minute after the Dutch made their initial score, equalizing the game 1 - 1 early in the first half.

However, Tim Cahill will be suspended for Australia's next game against Spain as he was given his second yellow card in the tournament.

Mile Jedinak, Australia's team captain, manages to score another point as he was awarded a penalty kick and strikes a right-footed shot just right in the corner of the goal, leading Australia 2 - 1 on the 54th - minute mark of the match.

Netherlands strikes back and caught up once more during the second half of the match as Robin van Persie equalizes the game for the Dutch as he secures another point with a left-footed shot which was assisted by Memphis Depay on the 58th - minute mark.

Yet, the Dutch offensive is far from over as another critical shot was delivered just before the game comes to a halt.

Memphis Depay secured victory for the Netherlands on the 68th - minute mark of the match as a right-footed shot was buried, leading the Dutch 3 - 2.

Louis van Gaal, Netherlands' manager, quotes in BBC News: "If in the first half you lose the ball so simply or so often, then the formation doesn't matter. I needed to change something at half-time to boost their confidence and change their mindset.

"Fortunately it turned out OK, but it could have turned out differently. In the second half we had more chances and the way the players came from behind was incredible. To recover and correct that situation showed a lot of mental strength."

Netherlands will face Chile, who defeated Spain 2 - 0, at Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo while Australia matches up against Spain at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba. Both games will be played on June 23, Monday.
