Brazil World Cup 2014 Predictions: Colombia vs. Ivory Coast Match Preview; Cafeteros Take the Lead

Colombia and Ivory Coast are off to prove they are not one-hit wonders.

Both entering as victors from their opening games, only one team will emerge as a winner for Thursday's match and at the same time, have the chance to immediately qualify for the Magic 16 in the Knockout Stage.

With Colombia being a clear favorite among the two, their spirits were all in the highest possible places. Their starting campaign against Greece which ended in 3-0 also helps very much in their confidence.

The Cafeteros team coach, Jose Pekerman is now currently depending much on James (Ha-mes) Rodriguez's and Juan Cuadrado's skills, who both delivered a spectacular performance on Mineirao soil.

However, the absence of Radamel Falcao and Carlos Bacca from the group matches could affect their chances of winning.

On the other hand, Ivory Coast also had a bright start against Japan at 2-1, but Colombia is a new different story. The expertise of legend Didier Drogba and Wilfried Bony will definitely be put to a test with the Colombian's powerful line up.

The two teams have never challenged each other before, so this is their first or last time to face in a World Cup clash in Brazilian land.

Statistics show that Colombia has the record for the highest possession rate since the 1966 World Cup with 58%. They also hold the highest success rate of passes. They are also the leading South American World Cup qualifiers in terms of number of attempted shots.

Meanwhile, the Ivory Coast team average goal numbers per match almost reaches to two. This 2014 FIFA is also their third.

This is surely an exciting game, but most fans believe Colombia will win at 2-1. Their power and experience is too overwhelming for The Elephants. Moreover, they will emerge from Group C because of this game, but will hope for Ivory Coast's company in the Knockout Round.

This is Colombia's game, but Ivory Coast will have theirs, too.
