"Roar" singer Katy Perry has officially announced her newest label Metamorphosis Music. Shortly after, she signed on her first ever artist, Ferra Alqaisi.
On Tuesday, Perry announced her latest venture via Twitter and wrote, "I am so ECSTATIC to finally announce my NEW label Metamorphosis Music & my first signing, the incredibly talented & soulful FERRAS! @ferras."
The "Dark Horse" singer also shared the news via Instagram and wrote, "Introducing my new label venture with @capitolrecords featuring my first artist FERRAS @ferras."
In a statement, Perry explained her choice for enlisting Ferras under her label, according to Variety.
"Ferras is a man with a message and a unique, lyrical way of communicating his perspective on life that makes you feel connected to every note when you listen. 'Speak in Tongues' is a song with raw emotional power that I wish I wrote. I believe he is going to be an important artist to watch unfold. I am so ecstatic the world get to hear his music now both online and on tour with me."
Meanwhile, Ferras who signed with Capitol Records in 2007 is equally ecstatic with their new partnership, Under the Gun Review reported.
"Her instincts are really on point. She is very blunt and doesn't and doesn't sugar-coat things, which I appreciate. Also, she gave me the freedom to do what I wanted musically and was a natural partner," Ferras said.
Following Perry's confirmation, Ferras also took his thoughts to Instagram and wrote, "The secret is out! I've signed on to my dear friend @katyperry's new record label Metamorphosis Music. Today is the day that my EP is finally out and I'm so happy I now get to share it"
Ferras' self-titled EP was officially released on Tuesday via iTunes and it includes five tracks. Four of which are all Ferras' single, while one track, "Legends Never Die," is a duet by the new musical partners."
