Wanderlei Silva news reveals "The Axe Murderer's" confession in front of the Nevada Athletic Commission regarding an incident in May 24 wherein he ran from a random drug testing.

Wanderlei Silva admitted to having diuretics in his system, and explained that he ran away because he did not understand the documents, which were written in English and that he needed his lawyer's help with it.

"The Axe Murderer" released a statement as reported by MMA Fighting, saying that he is happy to have explained his side of the story.

"I am relieved to have solved this problem," he spoke of the Wanderlei Silva news. "We explained to them the circumstances and that I was not using any PEDs. I injured my wrist in February and after that I felt extreme pain in training, so I was prescribed an anti-inflammatory that made me swell up, so then I started taking diuretics to expel the water out."

"When they sent that guy to my gym I was still taking diuretics, and when you fail a test people don't want to know if it was diuretics or steroids," Silva added. "I don't use PEDs or steroids, I have never used it and I've never had any problems in that area."

"I have never failed a test before," he continued on the Wanderlei Silva news. "I have nothing to hide and I am glad we solved this."

The Commission's ban on testosterone replacement therapy and other forms of performance enhancing medication has cause a lot of stir among fighters, notwithstanding their legalization.

Most recently, Chael Sonnen's failed pre-fight drug test for UFC 175 forced him to retire from mixed martial arts competition. Vitor Belfort also failed a drug test in February.

But for Wanderlei Silva, a fight against either one is still on the table.

"Now I'm waiting for Sonnen's suspension to end or Belfort to get licensed," he said. "Let's go to the next. I will keep training 100 percent."
