BBC America’s ‘The Intruders’ Trailer Released

BBC America released the first trailer for its upcoming series "The Intruders."

The series is about a secret society chasing immortality by taking over the bodies of others, according to Deadline.com.

The show is based on Michael Marshall Smith's novel "The Intruders." The series is reportedly being spearheaded by Glen Morgan, a writer and executive producer of "The X-Files," "Final Destination 1" and Final Destination 3."

Eduardo Sanchez, who was involved in the "Blair Witch Project," and Daniel Stamm of "The Last Exorcism" directed the episodes.

"The Intruders" stars John Simm as Jack Whelan with Mira Sorvino as his wife Amy, according to Variety. Jack Whelan is a former LAPD cop with a "troubled history," whose life changes when his wife goes missing.

The suspenseful series is set in the Pacific Northwest.

The cast also includes James Frain as Shepherd, Tory Kittles as Gary Fischer, and ten-year-old Millie Brown as Madison.

The paranormal series will premiere on August 23.
