Tom Clancy's The Division Release Date

Even with The Division release date delayed to 2015, Ubisoft's first-person shooter remains an anticipated title of the year; insider leaks, if confirmed, could mean gamers are in for disappointment though.

Last month's reports confirmed release for Tom Clancy's The Division has been pushed back as far as 2015. Ubisoft appeased initial reaction of disappointment by promising a good reveal at E3, which it did (ibtimes.com).

The Division is reported to have the full scale of an open-world game, one which Ubisoft hopes gamers will play for months and years to come. Developers assure repeat gameplay with discoverable items and skill trees in play, similar to features of Role-playing games.

A massive loot of items are in store for gamers, especially in the variety of weapons. These are tied in to experience and skill developed through play.

Ubisoft has also resolved a problem associated with online RPGs, in terms of telling a storyline which carries on during extended play. Fragments of the plot are picked up with data scattered and collected throughout the level, similar and improved upon the Ground Zeroes feature, with an investigative twist incorporated.

Other reports leaked prior to The Division release date aren't so positive, though. An insider in the Ubisoft development team maintains the game is already downgraded in a few areas, and The Division release date may not deliver to the promises made during the E3 reveal.

Expectations are set with this E3 demo play, courtesy of GameSpot:

The insider claims the E3 demo for The Division was running on a PC, and the graphics are likely to be downgraded on the Windows, Xbox, and PlayStation 4 release. Ryan Barnard of Ubisoft revealed plenty of information in terms of gameplay, and it's yet to be confirmed if this is more than enough to compensate for the supposed downgrade (gameranx.com).

The insider, who's part of the development team of Ubisoft Massive Switzerland, comments: "To me it still looks good, but not as good as the original reveal. I am sure as we get closer to launch and the actual console versions of the game featuring SD (Snowdrop) that it will start to seem all too obvious to people especially those on PCs."
