After incredible performance in their World Cup campaigns so far, Croatia and Mexico are off to face each other for today's Group A match. The Croatians need this win to qualify for the next round, while the Mexicans will be assured of the top spot over Brazil, if they can score three more points, provided that the hosts can defeat Cameroon (which is very likely).
Both of the teams are also very confident as they enter the field this Monday.
For the North Americans, their goalless draw against Brazil has put all the spotlights on spectacular goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, who has managed to block every single goal that Brazilians have made. His fluffy afro hair is now the norm for sensational goal saving.
Also, Mexican manager Migual Herrera is also planning to incorporate 26-year-old Javier Hernandez to strike for the team for this match. He had been on the bench for the last two games.
On the other hand, Croatian manager Niko Kovac also has high hopes for this competition. As his star striker Mario Mandzukic managed to score a double during their match against Cameroon last week, his faith in him will surely be put to a test again for this game. Kovac looks like he is not going to change the line-up for his team. If so, team captain Darijo Srna will be celebrating this match as his 116th appearance wearing the Blazers uniform.
Their past three meetings proved 2 out of 3 wins for Croatia, but the latest one in 2002 ended in a 1-0 in favour of Mexico.
