"Sherlock" cast Benedict Cumberbatch will play the genius detective "for a very long time," according to the showrunner of the BBC hit show. Meanwhile, one of UK's best dressed men, is causing a Hollywood craze in Boston, Ma.

Showrunner Steven Moffat told The Guardian newspaper that the format of the show is partly responsible for its eventual longevity. "Had we done the conventional form of a TV series which is to do runs of six or twelve, it would be over by now without doubt, it would be finished," he said.

That means "Shelock" cast Benedict Cumberbatch, whose star potential seems to be on the rise in Hollywood, and Martin Freeman, who plays Dr. Watson, wouldn't have committed to the show.

"Because [the cast] would never again commit that amount of time that regularly to a TV show, they just wouldn't, why would they?" he said.

Showrunner Steven Moffat said "Sherlock" goes on break for two-and-a-half years before getting back together to make three films, which means "that it can go on for a very long time."

According to Boston Herald, female fans in hordes have been anticipating "Sherlock" cast Benedict Cumberbatch's arrival even if he has yet to work on the set of "Black Mass," where he will play the role of state Senate president Billy Bulger, Whitey Bulger's brother.

"Add to that the report in yesterday's Track that Cumbie had a date with him at Sonsie the other night, and well, the frenzy is in full roar," it said.

Aside from being included among Britain's best dressed men, "Sherlock" cast Benedict Cumberbatch's also landed the fifth spot in Glamour magazine's "Sexiest Men of 2013" and No. 1 in Empire magazine's "100 Sexiest Movie Stars" survey. He was also voted UK Sun's "hottest bloke in Britain" in 2012 and 2013.
