"American Idol" has named next season's judges and confirmed that the powerful trio made up of Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban will all return to the show.

The executives of the once popular singing reality competition confirmed the news on Monday, despite the fact that last season saw "American Idol's" lowest ratings yet, according to News Day.

Ryan Seacrest will also return as the show's host, despite past rumors that claimed he was set on quitting the show for good.

"American Idol" creator Simon Fuller confirmed the news and said in a statement, "I am thrilled our consummate host, Ryan Seacrest, is returning for Season 14, together with Jennifer, Harry and Keith. Their interaction, warmth and experience made them an absolute joy to watch. I can't wait to see their evolution together to continue next season."

Lopez will therefore be returning on the show for the fourth time within the past couple of years, while Urban's return will be his third straight season and Connick Jr.'s comeback marks his second run on the show, TV Guide reported.

David Hill, Senior Executive Vice President of 21st Century Fox released a statement following the confirmation.

"Jennifer, Keith, Harry and Ryan are the very best in the business at what they do, and I am thrilled that they are returning to American Idol for another season. Each brings unique qualities and expertise to the team, but they all share the same passion for helping undiscovered singers achieve the American dream."

"American Idol" producer Trish Kinane confirmed that the current judges' panel is "one of Idol's strongest ever," IBTimes confirmed.

However, unlike past seasons, the show's 14th season that is set to air next year will only have 37 episodes. Each episode will also have fewer hours and most weeks will only consist of one episode and not two.
