Nick Diaz news features the elder Diaz brother's intention to only take big fights once he comes back to professional mixed martial arts competition.

The 30-year old fighter from Stockton, California decided to walk away from the sport after losing to former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre at UFC 158 in March 2013.

Nick Diaz recently spoke to Susie Lee of FanTV regarding his immediate plans for his currently stalled fighting career.

"I don't really have anything set," the retired UFC welterweight said about the Nick Diaz news. "People are just talking a lot of stuff right now."

Nick Diaz has been competing in professional mixed martial arts since 2001, and has fought under the world's most prominent promotions such as PRIDE FC, the UFC, and Strikeforce, where held its welterweight title and successfully defending it thrice before voluntarily letting it go.

Rightfully so, the former UFC number one contender has his sights sets for bigger fights only.

"I'm open to something big," Diaz continued. "If I'm gonna do something, I want to do something big, like as big as my last fight (against St-Pierre)."

Early this month, reports about a fight between Nick Diaz and former middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva have created some buzz among fight fans. While "The Spider's" camp has not released any further statements, Nick Diaz did name his price for the potential mega fight.

"I'm not considering even for a second fighting any of those guys for less than $500,000," he told the MMA Hour in a previous interview regarding the Nick Diaz news. "There's no way."

But for Nick Diaz, although the aforementioned match-up has not been confirmed, he treats it as important as how it is for the fans.

"There's been a lot of talk about it," Diaz explained. "I don't know how serious everybody is, a fight like that is a pretty big deal."

"I'm pretty serious if everybody's serious, it is a big deal," he added.
