Recife was flooded after torrential rains the Brazilian city. It might also mean that some U.S. and German fans will miss this Group G Brazil World Cup 2014 match. These are the last matches in the Group 1 stage deciding which team will advance to the Group 2 round. The U.S. vs. Germany game had a lot riding on Germany since a loss to U.S. would mean an embarrassment to a lackluster squad with a couple of talented goal scorers Muller and Klose. Mullers's goal in the U.S. vs. Germany match is his fourth. At the rate he is going, the only person who has scored more goals is Pele with nine goals in nine matches. And Muller looks like he will follow suit if Germany can withstand offensives from opponents.

Muller, 24, is six goals away from the scoring record, maintained by his teammate Miroslav Klose and Brazilian star striker Ronaldo. But Thomas Muller turned the game around for Germany with a goal in the 55mn. So Germany will indeed move on to the knock round and judging from the two scoring machines, Klose and Muller, they should be able to go to the quarterfinals with a little support from Germany's defense, traditionally known to be a brick wall with players like Paul Brenner in 90's earning a strong reputation for marking.

The good news is the U.S. will also move through since they earned their place as runner ups and will go against Belgium in the Round of 16. The U.S. struggled against Germany, but they will move forward thanks to Portugal's 2-1 win over Ghana.

Germany coach Joachim Low: "I knew it would be difficult today and it was. USA defended deep, they were well organised, but I have to say we dominated, denying them good chances in the process.

"Our midfield was great today - they were dynamic and never stopped running.

"It wasn't easy for USA - everyone thought Portugal would qualify, but they've done it. They're tough opponents and they've deserved it."
