Charlie Hunnam's interview with E! Online reveals that he has some regrets about dropping out of the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie.

The 'Sons of Anarchy' star says he would have loved to play the role of Christian Grey if things had worked out differently.

Hunnam told Life & Style at the Hauding Film Awards in Hollywood on Sunday, "I felt like I had an interesting take on that character and felt like I could have done a good job of playing Christian Grey, otherwise I wouldn't have taken it on in the first place. When you put the time into something like that and a character comes alive in your mind, it's heartbreaking not to be able to play him."

He added, "It was definitely kind of heartbreaking having to say goodbye to that character and not bring it to life."

Despite not being a part of the Fifty Shades film adaptation, Hunnam said he will go see the movie. "If they invite me to the premiere, I will go and see it there," he said. "If not, I'll go and buy some tickets on opening night."

Hunnam can be seen next in Pacific Rim 2, which will be hitting movie theaters everywhere on April 7, 2017!

The original 'Pacific Rim' was a global box office hit and starred Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Ron Perlman.

Director Guillermo del Toro told BuzzFeed, "The characters I love will return. Raleigh (Hunnam), Mako (Kikuchi), Newt (Day), Gottlieb (Burn Gorman) and who knows, maybe even Hannibal Chau (Perlman) - but we are taking them into a fresh territory that will display amazing sights and battles. The first film set the stage and now we're ready to have a blast."
