Good news for Filipino Dota 2 players as Valve is working together with PLDT to make the Dota 2 Philippines server.
The Dota 2 SEA server instability is causing a lot problems for players and Valve, along with E-Club Malaysia are working hard to fix the problem.
In a report by Cyberland, The Philippines contains the largest number of Dota 2 players in the SEA region but they are the ones that are affected the most by the Dota 2 SEA server instability and it seems that Valve is willing to help the plight of the Filipino gamers by working on making a server made just for the Philippines.
Cyberland reported that Valve has contacted PLDT, the biggest internet service provider in the country, and they are working on making the much needed Dota 2 Philippines Servers.
While the Dota 2 Philippines Server is still on the planning stages, Filipino gamers can rest assured that by 2015, the Dota 2 Philippines server would be up by then.
This move by Valve to create the Dota 2 Philippines server is a bit shocking as lawmakers in the country are looking to ban Dota 2 in internet cafes throughout the country.
ccording to reports, some of the lawmakers in the city of Markina and Manila are working to together to draft out a law that would prohibit internet cafés in the Philippines from allowing their patrons to play Dota 2 and LoL in their shop.
This is due to fact that a number of parents complained that the games would interfere with the schooling of the children and that there has been a number of reports of violence that were attributed to the games, especially Dota/Dota 2 such as when a child was stabbed over 40 times due to alleged Dota 2 account hacking (read our report about it here) or when a teenager killed his grandmother for interrupting his game (read our report about it here). Not to mention this brawl that happened inside an Internet Café in Manila that was attributed to Dota.
What do you think? Should Dota 2 and LoL be banned in internet café's in the Philippines? Sound off in the comments below!
