A new development has occurred regarding Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 as Danny Pudi will make a cameo appearance in the show.

According to reports from Digital Spy, the “Community” star requested a cameo appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2.

"Anything is possible. I never thought that 'Captain America' was possible," Pudi tells TVLine. "I also never thought that being on 'Cougar Town' was possible. So ... why not? No one's contacted me about that. But please tell everyone that I am available and interested."

This isn’t the first time Danny Pudi wore a SHIELD uniform as he also appeared in the Captain America sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier as a SHIELD technician.

Zap2it reports that Captain America directors Joe and Anthony Russo have described Pudi’s cameo in the movie.

"For us, we're always trying to layer in Easter eggs for people because we know that there's a very rabid fanbase that loves that stuff, and you want to feed that. You want them to get excited, and every time they watch the movie they can rediscover something. Danny was just a very obvious, easy Easter egg. We just felt it would be a nod to our history with ['Community'] and to our friendship with him to have him appear in the movie. "

However, reports from Comicvine claimed that Pudi’s cameo appearance in the show might be different as the website claimed that Marvel plans on putting an “alien” spy in the ranks of the new and improved S.H.I.E.L.D. to watch over the new director, Phil Coulson. It is not yet speculated whether this alien is a Kree, a Skrull or even an Inhuman.

Meanwhile, Clark Gregg talks about what’s in store for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2.

Epoch Times reports that Clark Gregg revealed some potential spoilers for the show.

“It’s going to be lo-fi. You’re going back to basics,” he said.

“You’ve got to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. from the ground up in a much more dangerous world where your group is outlawed. So it feels like the early, Sean Connery James Bond with the brass knuckles and not afraid to knock somebody off,”

Gregg also said that the new season won’t have some of the problems the first season faced, such as the extended hiatus, because of Agent Carter.

“I thought there were so many things stacked against us last year and one of them was where the ABC television schedule would put us on for three episodes and then take us down for four weeks. Nobody could get a momentum going and when the show started to be on consistently and having story that carried over in an episodic way, that’s when things started to click.”

“So the great thing about the announcement was, we’re moving to nine, where it can be a little darker, like I think Marvel needs to be.”
