Luis Suarez biting the Italian football player has been the talk of the town regarding the World Cup in Brazil lately. Suarez has already issued an apology on his Facebook account, as well as on Twitter. He apologized for biting the Italian defender during the football match that compelled the organization to ban him for four months or nine games.
He did not immediately give out any comments regarding the Luis Suarez biting incident that occurred on the 24th of June. Suarez posted some images that indicated certain statements that were written in both English and Spanish. The statements that he posted read, "After several days of being home with my family, I have had the opportunity to regain my calm and reflect about the reality of what occurred during the Italy-Uruguay match on 24 June 2014."
He then continued, "Independent from the fallout and the contradicting declarations that have surfaced during these past days, all of which have been without the intention of interfering with the good performance of my national team. The truth is that my colleague Giorgio Chiellini suffered the physical result of a bite in the collision he suffered with me."
However, FIFA was quick to respond to this issue, after undergoing certain investigation. The organization then officially announced the penalty against the famous player on Thursday.
However, even the Italian defender, whom Suarez bit behind the shoulder area, Giorgio Chiellini, thinks that the penalty that was given to Suarez was a tad bit "harsh." Chiellini re-tweeted the statement that Suarez posted, just moments after Suarez posted it. He even responded to the tweet and said, "It's all forgotten. I hope FIFA will reduce your suspension."
The Luis Suarez biting stint during the match has already cost him one endorsement deal with the famous poker brand, 888. Uruguay was then eliminated from the tournament over the weekend, after the team suffered from a 2-0 loss to the Colombian team.
