iPhone 6 rumors of bigger units are validated with a new leak; Apple is set to release iPhones with display sizes larger than the iPhone 5.
There have been plenty of reports, mostly rumors, surrounding the iPhone 6, especially in terms of specifications. Recent news predicts it'll come in 4.7 and 5.5-inch screen sizes, to compete with smartphones Samsung and LG has to offer.
Comparisons of mock-ups pit the new iPhones to LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy S5, Note 4. There was even a mockup comparison video posted, with the rumored specs of the iPhone 6 built into a prototype.
A 9to5Mac report could be one of the best leaks for the iPhone 6 in a long time, though. Previous leaks were supported by iPhone 6 mockups, but now pictures of actual units with actual parts have surfaced.
9to5Mac obtained pictures of the iPhone 6's glass cover, giving a good feel of how much display the new units will offer compared to the iPhone 5s. There's a notable detail in the pictures: the iPhone 6's display glass is curved on the bottom edge.
This confirmed previous iPhone 6 rumors in a Bloomberg article, that the units will "feature larger displays with glass that curves downward at the edges."
Another 9to5Mac photo confirms the iPhone 6 will offer more display space than the iPhone 5, particularly the 4.7-inch model. The difference is given since the new iPhone is 0.7 inches larger than its predecessor, but a side-by-side comparison of prototypes makes it interesting (yahoo.com).
9to5Mac promises another gallery of iPhone 6 pictures to come, and with the fall release dates for the iOS 8 and new iPhone devices looming, fans can expect a major leaked reveal in the following months.
A mockup video of how the iOS 8 will look like on the new iPhone screens is featured in a new post; the user-created video should keep speculation reasonable and validated (bgr.com).
