After his son Indio was arrested for drug possession, Robert Downey Jr. came forth to release a statement.

The 49-year-old thespian suffered from drug addiction throughout the 1990s. As a result, he ended up in rehab and jail numerous times. As of today, Downey Jr. claims he hasn't consumed drugs since 2003.
The "Ironman" star stresses that his son will fight this battle with a ton of people backing him along the way.
"There is a lot of family support and understanding, and we’re all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being," he said.
Downey Jr. also issued a thank you to the authorities who apprehended Indio.
"We’re grateful to the Sheriff's department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale," he said.
