Sherri Shepherd latest news speaks of her leaving The View. These past few days, Shepherd's divorce news has been replaced by an unexpected announcement of her departure from the show. Former "The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck expressed her shock about it. The now "Fox & Friends" co-host has been with the ABC daytime talk show for 10 years until she left for her contract with Fox News in 2013.

"I was shocked, in some ways," Hasselbeck said. UPI reported that during the Friday's episode of Fox & Friends, she told co-host Steve Doocy she didn't perceive Shepherd's leaving The View coming.

According to Huffington Post, "statement released by ABC News seemed to imply that the departures were a decision on the part of the network, and TMZ reported that both Shepherd and McCarthy had been fired." Hasselbeck also seemed to consider that the women had been pushed out of the show, adding that Shepherd herself was most likely shocked.

"Even if you think that might happen one day, I'm sure it would come across to be a shock," Hasselbeck added reportedly noting that she's sure Shepherd is also stunned by the news.

The View revealed on Thursday that Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy will be sent-off the show having Whoopi Goldberg as the only remaining host for now.

A source told E! News that the proposed overhaul came as a bomb to Shepherd and McCarthy. Nevertheless Shepherd extended her appreciation to The View.

"It's been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on," Shepherd said in a personal statement to Deadline. "I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey."
