Nick Cannon Lupus news have revealed that he was diagnosed with the disease in 2012 but he shares that he is fighting it by the chronic fatigue by staying healthy and immersing himself in work and family.
"So my concept is, the more that I go and the more that I push and I stay on that regimen [in the gym, eating right, etc.], it kinda keeps me going so my body doesn't get the opportunity to kinda be like," he slumped, "'Oh, I'm tired.'"
Nick has lupus nephritis, an autoimmune condition that affects the kidneys. In a previous interview with HuffPost Live host Ricky Camilleri, he revealed that his health has actually improved since his initial diagnosis. "I want to continue to educate, show people that you can live with this condition and similar conditions as long as you live right. And as long as you have that drive," adding, "I always say I've changed my test into a testimony."
"I just want to get out there and continue to educate and be that pillar in the community to say, 'hey, well he's doing it and he's strong when he does it.' So I feel like it's given me new purpose on this Earth, so I embrace it wholeheartedly."
On another note, you may have noticed the countless photos of Nick and Mariah's kids going around. However, he revealed that thought he understands that his babies already have a following; he actually doesn't want them to get into the business.
"I actually don't want them to be in the business, but I understand that people have fallen in love with them and [they have] fans and stuff," Nick told cohost Terrence Jenkins and guest host Jordin Sparks on E!.
He also mentioned this as the reason behind the upcoming Roc and Roe's 12 Days of Christmas, his first children's book with Scholastic, featuring his and Mariah's son, Moroccan, and daughter, Monroe, as the main characters.
"They're like the new Raggedy Ann and Andy," he joked.
Nick is pretty busy nowadays. He is presently hosting two shows and is making his directorial debut with School Dance. He also starred on Real Husbands of Hollywood and now might even.... "Run for office," he teased. "I'm gonna be the mayor of Beverly Hills!"
