Shia LaBeouf is seeking treatment for alcoholism; recent reports suggest that the actor has signed up for professional help regarding this matter. According to Toronto Sun, a representative of the Transformers star revealed that he is actually voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction but insisted that the rehab reports are fake.

"Contrary to previous erroneous reports, Shia LaBeouf has not checked into a rehabilitation facility but he is voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction," a rep for the film star said in a statement to Access.

"He understands that these recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he has taken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery. There will be no further comments made at this time," the spokesperson said.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the statement comes days after the actor was arrested in a Broadway performance of Cabaret last June 26. Reportedly, the 28-year-old star was escorted out in handcuffs after allegedly causing a disturbance. "He was later charged with five misdemeanor counts of trespassing, disorderly conduct and harassment."

Mail Online reported that he was processed and released from a holding cell on Friday morning, an NYPD spokesman told MailOnline. He is set to appear in court July 24.

LaBeouf's "erratic and antisocial behaviour" continues to add up. Reportedly, a new video has appeared showing the actor "almost getting into a fight outside a New York strip club, just one week before his arrest at a Broadway show last week."

TMZ posted the clip to their website on Sunday night, him bouncing around a sidewalk in front of another man. The actor appears to be jeering the unidentified male, "bouncing from toe to toe in the manner of a boxer waiting to clash with his opponent."

Reportedly, LaBeouf's unpredictable behaviour has ignited concerns for his mental health in recent months.
