After being visited by England's Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip last week, the Game Of Thrones Exhibition made its way to Sydney, Australia. Despite the long wait, thousands of fans still wanted to see the exhibit which features a hundred props from the hit series.

Tuesday's opening day brought in six-hour-long queues at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Security was even forced to cut off lines at 1pm. For those who were able to view the Iron Throne replica and the costumes used in the series, the long wait was well worth it. The Emmy-award outfits were put on display, including Sansa Stark's gold wedding gown, Jon Snow's winter clothes, as well as Arya and The Hound's tattered clothing.

Other props on display were Joffrey Lanister's crossbow, Jamie Lannister's severed hand, Ned Stark's Valyrian sword, and Theon Greyjoy's bandaged private parts.

The most exciting attraction of the exhibit, however, is the virtual feature that allowed fans to experience The Wall in Castle Black. It drew out occasional screams from fans wearing Oculus Rift glasses as they scaled the famous landmark in the series. 4D technology allowed exhibit-goers to feel the chilly northern wind and even the occasional flaming arrows.

The Game Of Thrones Exhibition was the brainchild of Liam Cunningham, who plays Sir Davos Seaworth in the show.

"People have this sense of ownership [of Game of Thrones], that they're really part of it and that it's theirs," he told Mirror UK, "It makes us more aware [that] you can't patronise this audience. So you work as hard as you can because the idea of disappointing these fans-you don't want to do that. And you get a bit worried about the 'difficult second album.'"

The Game Of Thrones Exhibition will be held in the Federation Hall of Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art until July 5.
