According to USA Today, the no. 13 pick in the 2004 draft guard Sebastian Telfair, is going back to the NBA for the 2014-2015 season on a one-year minimum contract with OKC. However, deals are not yet officially signed until July 19, hereby quoting a report from Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com that states:
"After a one-year hiatus, Sebastian Telfair will make his return to the NBA for the 2014-15 season.
The free agent point guard and Oklahoma City Thunder have reached an agreement, league sources informed CSNNW.com.
According to sources that requested to remain anonymous, the terms agreed to is for one-year at the veteran's minimum after meeting with team officials and touring the city recently."
With the Thunders now making the most out of the perfect combination of point guards Reggie Jackson and Russell Westbrook, one thing that they need in their roster is a point guard with exceptional skills, perhaps a replacement of Derek Fisher who has already retired and took over New York Knicks' coaching position.
Telfair surfaced in the 2012-2013 season carrying the flags of Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns. He has made an average of 6.0 points, 2.5 assists in 17.3 minutes during his time with the Suns, and has also averaged 4.3 points, 3.0 assists in 14.2 minutes with the Raptors.
However his best season in the NBA was when he was with the Minnesota Timberwolves wayback in 2008-2009, averaging 9.3 points, 5.9 assists, and 2.3 rebounds. In addition to his record, Telfair averaged 26 points and 5.9 assists with Tianjin in the Chine pro league.
