"Glee" star Chris Colfer clarifies that he was not fired from the show, despite rumors spreading like wildfire after a tweet from his personal account surfaced online.
On Thursday, Colfer allegedly tweeted, "Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of Glee. Explanations will come shortly..."
Fans of Colfer and "Glee" were surprised to read his tweet but within just a few minutes, the actor denied that he was the one wrote tweeted the controversial message, according to the Toronto Sun.
In an interview with E! News, Colfer's representative debunked the rumors and said, "It's not true. Chris is confirmed for the next season of Glee."
"Glee's" home network, 20th Century Fox TV reacted to the rumor and explained, "We've been alerted that Chris Colfer's twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season."
Meanwhile, Colfer tweeted that he was on a flight at the time of hacking and insisted that he missed an interesting day because he was up in the air, the Hollywood Reporter noted.
"Apparently I missed quite the INTERESTING day while aboard my flight. I'm just glad I wasn't "killed by a fruit truck" again," he wrote.
Earlier this year, Colfer dished on "Glee's" upcoming last episode and said, "I think it will be a good time to conclude the series. It's a very, very difficult show to do, as everyone knows, and I think when people say that we're the hardest working cast and crew on television, I don't think it's an overstatement. I think it's very much the reality."
Colfer also dished that he once wrote an episode for the hit TV series and is hopeful that before the show officially ends next season, he will have the chance to collaborate with director Ryan Murphy. "I'd really, really think about that one. I'd hope my costars would be OK with that."
