Belgium, after almost three decades, is now entering the quarterfinals and is facing off against an old foe-Argentina on Saturday in Brasilia. The match between the teams has been one of the most awaited events in the tournament and bets are going on who among the two would win the quarterfinals match.

The last time these two teams have met and reached this far was on the 1986 semifinals. However, Belgium lost that time while the Argentinean team was led by Diego Maradona. He scored two goals and Belgium was unable to reach Round 16 until this year.

Reaching as far as the quarterfinals, it is apparent that Belgium is now equipped with the best lineup of players. One could say that the team has their best foot forward in the tournament with their striker Romelu Lukaku, attackers Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne, and the team captain Vincent Kompany.

While Belgium continues the chase to victory, Argentina forward Lionel Messi is doing the same. This year will be the third time La Albiceleste, the Argentina team, will be playing off in the quarterfinals in the last four World Cups. The question today is, will the team be able to advance from being a runner-up squad?

In the last four victories of Argentina, the team has shown an excellent midfield control even though they struggled against Iran and Nigeria that focused more on defense rather than attacking. Despite Messi showing threats of winning the championship due to his performances in the previous matches, the team, in general, still shows their vulnerability in the backline.

The match between the long rival teams is surely not to be missed and will pave a way in World Cup's history.
