"Supernatural" season 10 is bringing in a new character, according to TVLine. With its premiere episode scheduled to air on October 7, reports have spread of an "eerie" first episode as per International Business Times.
The decade-long show's first episode for season 10 has been tentatively dubbed "Soul Survivor" which sounds ominous with the disturbing last few minutes of season nine in mind. Last season, the show ended with the older Winchester brother resurrecting as a demon and the younger one having an emotional breakdown. Not to mention Castiel's (Misha Collins) slowly dwindling stolen grace and Crowley's (Mark Sheppard) still uncured (but managed) human blood addiction.
In addition to Dean (Jensen Ackles) becoming a demon, he also bears the Mark of Cain and an insatiable hunger for killing. Combined with his knowledge and skill as a hunter, this new Dean will most likely become a huge threat.
With Abeddon dying last season, TVLine reports that "Supernatural" season 10 will introduce a new recurring character, a female by the name of "Rowena." Although her specific role in Dean's new demonic life and Sam's (Jared Padelecki) rescue mission to save his brother and Castiel has not been divulged, viewers can expect her character to be "a tough but elegant woman who will stop at nothing to reclaim her power base."
A source has told TVLine that "Supernatural" is currently looking for the perfect actress to best portray "Rowena." "Actresses who have or can perfect a Scottish accent are preferred," adds the report.
With similar attributes as Abeddon and Lilith, avid fans of the show are speculating that "Rowena" might become one of the Winchester's many enemies.
In other news, Jensen Ackles will be directing the still untitled episode three of "Supernatural" season 10. Mark Sheppard was also promoted to a regular cast member with his role as King of Hell or Crowley.
