Fans of the adorable Japanese schoolgirl superhero can't wait to see the premiere of Sailor Moon 2014 on July 5. But before that happens, let's all celebrate the birthday of Usagi Tsukino, or popularly known as Sailor Moon.
The manga is celebrating their 22nd anniversary and they have a present to all their followers. Two years ago, they announced that Toei Animation Studios will create a reboot of "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon". This got many fans excited and tomorrow is going to be the big day!
We will witness the Sailor Moon 2014, which is a more updated version of the classic 1992 anime. They added the word "crystal" to the title of the new series thus the remake will be called "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal".
As reported by The Japan Times, TV producer Yu Kaminoki revealed that the crystal symbolizes a magical return to one's origins. He said, "The aim of this new animation is a return to the origins of Sailor Moon - to the manga."
There will be a few changes to Sailor Moon 2014 such as the inclusion of deleted scenes and new drawings courtesy of anime director Munehisa Sakai and artist Yukie Sako. A few days ago, people celebrated the birthday of Usagi Tsukino by attending the party hosted by Vivi Magazine.
Approximately 1,000 fans arrived in Tokyo to celebrate the Sailor Moon Day and watch the first episode teaser of "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal". Fans from all over the world were lucky to get an invite to the exclusive event.
One fan said, "I can't believe I got a ticket! I've been a fan since birth and I was so excited that I couldn't eat all week!" An American fan revealed, "I wouldn't know my husband if it wasn't for Sailor Moon."
Sailor Moon 2014 has greatly improved because it made use of the latest technology such as the 3-D CGI. After watching the sneak peek of "Sailor Moon Crystal", many fans got really emotional about the experience. A British fan said, "I am so happy I could cry." She added, "I wasn't sure about the heavy CG at first, but the transformation sequence was absolutely beautiful! This show has had a huge impact on me, and I wouldn't be in Japan now if it wasn't for 'Sailor Moon.' "
