Most Americans already left any reminiscence of the World Cup 2014 behind, as they look forward to the Gold Cup, Olympics and 2016 Copa America, to take place in the USA.
The U.S. team had the strength and physical endurance to tough it out in the Cup, but still, they were not enough to let the team enjoy a winning glory. The U.S. team players gave it their best efforts, but perhaps; their skills just don't match the needs of the tournament.
The best efforts put forth by the American players are worth taking note of. Klinsmann did not neglect performing his job, and for that he deserves a pat on the back.
Tim Howard was awarded Man of the Match during two out of the four matches, scoring a 16-save against Belgium that catapulted the team to a higher level group game in the match.
Fabian Johnson played a large part in the successful moves of the USA team, however, his injury in a match against Belgium posed a big issue in the drive of the team to score a successful foal in the match, which infuriated Klinsmann.
Matt Besler's downfall against Romelu Lukaku as the latter scored a first goal on Tuesday did not turn out great, representing an incompetency in the efforts put forth in the match. Besler was doing great only for an initial 45 minute match against Ghana, had an amazing match against Portugal, Germany and Belgium before messing up in successive matches that came along.
