Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest split once again re-emerged as the "Dancing with the Stars" alum opened up about her break up from the "American Idol" host in the August 2014 issue of Redbook. These days, Hough, 25, says she's way more than content with hockey player Brooks Laich whom she's dating since December 2013.
"Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was nothing right," she said of her previous romances. "I had one foot out because I didn't want to get hurt. And I didn't say what was on my mind because I didn't want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect."
Hough and Laich were set up by mutual pal Teddy Sears last winter and have been going strong ever since.
"The next day my Curve co-star introduced [Brooks and me]," Hough said. "It couldn't have been a better time. We've been open and honest from day one."
"Now I'm not holding anything back, because I'd rather get my heart broken than never know what it is to be completely, madly in love," Hough added. "If I had been this open in my last relationship, who knows?"
LA Times reported that Hough narrated the realization that she had which changed her views on her relationships when her family went to a six-day seminar about creating your own destiny last November.
"I was not into it at first, but I learned so much about myself and why my relationships didn't work that by the end I was on a high. I was seeing a couple people, but immediately [pretends to text guys], 'You are nice, but this is going nowhere.' The next day my 'Curve' costar introduced [Brooks and me]. It couldn't have been a better time. We've been open and honest from Day 1," Hough said.
According to Us Weekly, Seacrest has been her serious boyfriend for nearly three years. After splitting from him in March 2013, Hough took some time off from dating.
