New details of the iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 have been revealed just recently. Does this mean that the new Apple gadgets' release date is nearing?
The new iPhone and iPad is speculated to be launched on September, or October at the latest.
Aside from the release date rumors, the web is abuzz with iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 specs rumors.
Apple leaker Sonny Dickson spread photos of the iPhone 6 model. The new phone is rumored to come in 5.5 or 5.7 inches.
Dickson is the "go-to" guy for Apple leaks since he's regarded as one of the most accurate in terms of predictions.
In another interview with Seeking Alpha, analyst Matt Margolis dished on the sapphire cover glass.
"As a result of my most recent supply chain check I believe that the Mesa sapphire operations will have ample supply to cover the iWatch, the 4.7″ iPhone and the 5.5″ iPhone with full sapphire cover glass in 2014. Additionally, the maximum sapphire screen capacity of the Mesa facility is likely to exceed 200m annual units," said Margolis.
The demand for the next-generation phone appears to be high. It said that the 5.5 or 5.7-inch model could cost $100 more than the other one, according to a report on Fool.com
"Our June consumer survey points to continued growth in the willingness of iPhone users to pay $100 more for a bigger screened iPhone, with now a full one-third of survey respondents willing to pay a $100 premium," Raymond James analyst Tavis McCourt wrote in a research note.
While consider ISI analyst Brian Marshal wrote: "'Large-screen envy' is prevalent among the iPhone installed base and we believe a ~5″ form-factor iPhone would spark a massive upgrade cycle as well as many 'Android switchers' returning back to the iPhone (we refer to this as the "mother lode" of all Apple upgrade cycles)," according to MacRumors.com.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo on the other hand predicted some notable specs that the iPad Air 2 might have. Aside from having major improvements on its speed and performance because of the Apple A8 processor, he also suggested that it will have Apple's fingerprint scanner technology called Touch ID which first debuted on the iPhone 5S.
The tablet will also run on iOS 8 that will come with rumored features and functions such as the split-screen multitasking feature in mobile devices, which will enable users to use two applications at the same time.
According to TheWestSideStory.net, the projected cost of the iPad Air 2 will be around $500. This amount is based on the retail price of the original iPad Air in the market today. The projected amount might be far from the actual retail price of the new iPad, but Apple users already awaits its release with wallets open.
