You'll never know who will win the game until it finally ends. This holds true in the Wimbledon 2014 Finals game between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer when Federer was taking advantage in the first set; however, Djokovic got the fifth and last set to win his second Wimbledon title.

This only proves that even one is trailing in the first set of the game doesn't mean he or she can't dominate the next sets.

It was 3 hours and 56 minutes before the match was over in 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-4 victory in favor of the Serb. The game is 3-hour-and-1-minute longer than the women's singles Finals between Petra Kvotira and Eugenie Bouchard, wherein Kvotira left the court with the championship title.

Federer was eyeing for his eighth Wimbledon title and aiming to be the oldest champion in the said tournament of the Open era come his 33rd birthday on August 8. It seems a heartbreaking moment for him.

Not only ranked-No. 3 Federer felt heartbroken when the title slipped from his hand. Celebrities like David and Victoria Beckham, Samuel L. Jackson, Orlando Bloom, Kate Beckinsale, Kate Winslet, and Hugh Jackman walked out the Centre Court not as happy as the fans of Djokovic.

The 27-year-old Djokovic prevented Federer's name to be etched once again in gilded silver, two-handled trophy but instead it clutched the major title to finally be the one to receive the trophy. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate, greeted him.

"Thank you for staying all the way through it," the Serb said to the royal couple.

For the Serb, this latest trophy is the sweetest after the elusive titles in his several Grand Slam Finals appearances in a row. He lost the Wimbledon Finals match to Andy Murray and the US Open and French Open with Rafael Nadal all in last year's tournaments. That's why he said about finally prevailing in the finals, "The most special Grand Slam final I've played. At the time in my career, for this Grand Slam trophy to arrive is crucial, especially after losing several Grand Slam finals in a row. I started doubting, of course, a little bit. I needed this win a lot."
