Moto 360 watch price, release date was not officially announced at the Google I/O developer conference. Instead, Google only confirmed that the Moto 360 would be out later in the summer according to IT Pro Portal. Slash Gear described that the emergence of the Moto 360 as an option in the current market dominated by Apple and Samsung is "something increasingly rare." Tracking the company's history, Motorola has been a game-changer last 2004 when it launched the RAZR V3.

Reportedly, the RAZR had accumulated a great demand in the market back then despite its premium price tag comparable to the Moto 360 which will be sold via Moto Maker.

Motorola also casually hinted on the price of the smart gadget through the official rules of a contest, suggesting that its "average retail value" is $249, a little more than what LG and Samsung has announced for their units hovering around the $200-230 mark.

According to VR Zone, most likely, users will be able to personalize their Motorola smart watch by choosing from various wristband options such as leather, metal or rubber. It is also speculated that stainless steel or "black" body configurations might be an option to tweak its design.

This Android Wear which doesn't feature a USB port has a "secret" charging method teased by Motorola earlier this year. According to Tech Radar, the company recently confirmed that the Moto 360 charges wirelessly via magnetic induction. Motorola's Andoid wear photos reveal the rear of the watch features a strange purple backing. It is speculated to be used for the Qi charging method.

Rumor suggests that the Moto 360 watch screen is a custom-made OLED display which consumes as much as 40% less power when displaying black images vs LCDs because they can turn off individual pixels. The opposite is true for battery-draining white backgrounds.

Online Tech Advisor expects it to be "protected by sapphire glass, a custom-made OLED display, a mostly black watch face screensaver so an OLED screen will help to reduce battery life consumption."

According to Tech Radar, Motorola confirmed that the Moto 360 is compatible with all Android 4.3 and Android 4.4 phones and tablets that take advantage of battery-sipping Bluetooth 4.0 technology.

Slash Gear noted that "the RAZR comparison presents a warning to Motorola" since the said handset "might have been one of the most successful phones" but Motorola was unsuccessful in innovating quickly after it.
