Fans of the comedy series "Community" have something to be cheerful about as it was just recently confirmed that the TV show will be renewed for season 6 on Yahoo Screen.
Yahoo Screen was formerly known as Yahoo Video. It is Yahoo's official video streaming site.
And while fans can't enjoy watching "Community" season 6 on NBC anymore after it was denied of another season by the network, no one can really complain about the "resurrection" made by Yahoo.
But that's not the only thing fans should be happy about. Aside from the show having another season under its belt, it will also have a movie. In fact, it has already been approved.
"We try so hard and have a pretty decent record now of saving and/or rescuing some of our favorite shows, whether it's 'Damages' or 'Unforgettable.' Certainly, 'Community' is right in there in a passion project and it's got a storied past," said Sony president of programming Zack Van Amburg in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Van Amburg has also shared that "Community" might even have a few more seasons in the future, depending on how well the movie does.
"There's no way we're not making the movie now. I think once we make the movie, let's look up and decide how much more Community the world wants. We promised six seasons and a movie, how much more do you want?... I'd be lying if I told you that we have not had some very early and preliminary conversations that are very exciting about what a potential movie could be and who might direct it," he said.
"Community" Season 6 will premiere in the third quarter of 2014.
