The Aerosmith and Slash concert tour kicks of July 10 in Wantagh, NY as the former Guns N' Roses lead guitarist expressed his excitement to open with his favorite band growing up.
Will the Aerosmith and Slash concert tour be a repeat of the 1988 fiasco when the Guns N' Roses toured with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry?
"That was a long time ago. There's been a lot of water under the bridge. But having Slash on the bill... It's gonna be a really good rock show," Joe Perry told Billboard.
Aerosmith just finished its 2-year Global Warming Tour with a culmination concert in London on June 28, but it seems the band is not yet tired as it embarks on a 20-city Let Rock Rule with Slash and his Conspirators on board.
As 66-year-old Steven Tyler told USA Today, "We still love to rock. It's nothing but a good time when the band hits the stage."
The website said that fans can expect the classics such as "Livin' on the Edge," "Amazing," "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," "Dream On," 'Walk This Way (Dude Looks Like a Lady)" and "Love in the Elevator" for the Aerosmith and Slash concert tour.
For his part, Slash has nixed rumors of a GNR reunion as he is quite happy with his new band, The Conspirators, with Myles Kennedy on vocals.
"It's a great matchup, and Aerosmith is one of my favorite bands from way back when. They put out Rocks (1976) when I picked up the guitar, and it had a profound influence on my playing and spoke to who I was as a teenager," Slash said, in a report by USA Today.
"They were exactly what I was looking for, a raucous combination of Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones that had rhythm and soul in a loud delivery," the 48-year-old guitarist added.
