The View TV Show recently revealed that Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy made their exits in the show leaving Whoopi Goldberg as the sole remaining cast member. According to TMZ, "active negotiations" with Rosie O'Donnell and "The View" is ongoing citing sources connected with Rosie and the production as the source of the said information.

"The network executives really wanted Rosie back," the insider said. "They're confident she has what it takes to add some controversy and drive the ratings up. It is a smart fit."

Reportedly, O'Donnell co-hosted The View from September 2006 until May 2007. She left the show after an on-air feud with former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Fox News noted that ABC said in a statement that it was unable to agree on a contract to bring O'Donnell back for a second season. This happened after her controversial exit. O'Donnell, in her own statement, said "my needs for the future just didn't dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me."

"They wanted me three years, I wanted one year and it just didn't work," she said then. "I'm not sad - I loved it here."

NY Daily News reported that no further information about the candid comedienne's deal or contract is available as of this time. Reps for the network dismissed the buzzes of her coming back.

ABC said that "there is a lot of rumor and speculation about who will be joining the show," but no decisions have been made and the network is "not ready to make any announcements."

"'The View' will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively but at this time, we have no announcement to make," a rep for the show told the Daily News Tuesday.

Together with O'Donnell, McCarthy and Shepherd, The View had Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulos, Joy Behar, Lisa Ling and Elisabeth Hasselbeck as co-hosts.
